Pediatric Bone Deformity

Advanced correction for bowing, knock knees, and limb length discrepancies. Ensuring straight paths for little steps.

Correcting Growth, Improving Lives

Children can experience bow legs, knock knees, or limb length discrepancy due to growth patterns, genetics, or past injuries. At Trinay Orthopedic Hospital, we specialize in identifying when a deformity is a normal stage of growth and when it requires expert intervention. We treat every child with the utmost care.

Early diagnosis can make a significant difference. Read about our pediatric services on our About Us page, or Contact Us for an evaluation.

Deformities We Treat

  • Bow Legs (Genu Varum): Persistent bowing after age 3.
  • Knock Knees (Genu Valgum): Severe inward angling of the knees.
  • Blount's Disease: A growth disorder of the shin bone.
  • Limb Length Discrepancy: One leg growing shorter than the other.

Guided Growth: A Precision Solution

Often, big surgeries aren't needed. We use guided growth (tension band plating) to gently steer the bone into proper alignment while the child grows. It is a minimally invasive, day-care procedure that lets children return to school very quickly.

Deformity FAQs

What is guided growth?

It is a technique where a tiny plate is placed across one side of the growth plate to slow it down temporarily, allowing the other side to "catch up" and straighten the bone naturally.

When should I worry about bow legs?

If bowing exists after age 3, is localized to only one leg, or is worsening rapidly, it requires an X-ray and specialist evaluation.
