End the Cycle of Dislocation
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, which also makes it the most unstable. A shoulder dislocation occurs when the ball pops out of the socket, often tearing the labrum (Bankart Lesion). Once a shoulder dislocates, it has a high chance of repeatedly popping out, especially in young athletes.
Evaluating Instability
At Trinay Orthopedic Hospital, we don't just "put it back." we analyze the bone loss and ligament damage using 3D CT and MRI to choose the right stabilizing procedure. We ensure long-term stability.
Stop the cycle of dislocation. Read more about our approach on our About Us page, or Contact Us to discuss your options.
- Bankart Lesion: A tear in the cartilage ring (labrum) that keeps the ball in place.
- Hill-Sachs Lesion: A dent in the humerus bone caused by the dislocation event.
- Bone Loss: When the socket rim itself wears down, necessitating bone grafting.
Arthroscopic Bankart Repair
Most cases are treated through Keyhole Surgery. Using tiny incisions, we use suture anchors to re-attach the torn labrum to the socket, instantly restoring the biological "bumper" that provides stability.
The Latarjet Procedure
For contact athletes or those with significant bone loss, we perform the Latarjet Bone Block. This involves transferring a piece of bone to the front of the socket, providing a "triple-lock" stability that is virtually immune to further dislocations.
Return to Sport
Our goal is to give you a shoulder you can trust. Our specialized shoulder rehab protocol focuses on progressive strengthening of the rotator cuff and scapular muscles, usually allowing a return to contact sports within 4-6 months.
