Fracture FAQs

How do I know if it's broken or just sprained?

It's often impossible to tell without an X-ray. However, inability to bear weight, visible deformity, and immediate severe swelling are strong signs of a fracture.

How long does a cast stay on?

Typically 4-6 weeks for upper limb fractures and 6-8 weeks for lower limb fractures. This varies significantly based on age and healing progress.

Will the metal implants set off airport alarms?

Most modern titanium implants do not set off metal detectors. However, we can provide you with an implant card just in case.

Do implants need to be removed?

Not usually. If they don't cause pain or irritation, they can stay in forever. We only remove them if they cause symptoms or in growing children.

Don't Delay Treatment

Delayed treatment can leads to malunion. Get expert care immediately.
